What others are saying

This was a very good book for middle schooler's. It reminded me of when I read the original Hardy Boys when I was young. I liked the way he mixed the mystery and the coming of age of the main character. Very entertaining! I will not spoil the ending, but it was total surprise, and I remember saying out loud, "What ???"

This is a great read for young adults/teenagers. We read it on a long road-trip and everyone was in suspense. We really enjoyed reading the parts about the Chesterton, Indiana area since I grew up in Chesterton. The author developed the characters very well and was adept at engaging us with their struggles as teens. The story is not too scary for young pre-teens. We have a 13 and 11 year old and they loved it. The ending is very unexpected.
